Immediately following the Organizational meeting, the newly seated Borough Council will hold a regularly scheduled Council meeting.

Please take notice that on December 11, 2007, the Borough Council of Coopersburg Borough will consider passage at a public meeting to be held at 7:30 P.M. at the Borough Hall located at 5 North Main Street, Coopersburg, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, of a proposed Ordinance 601 imposing an Local
Services Tax (LST) in the amount of Forty-Seven ($47.00) Dollars (the Tax) upon all individuals engaged in any occupation, trade, or profession within the Borough limits.  This LST replaces the Emergency Municipal Services Tax.  The proposed Ordinance requires the filing of returns giving information by employers of taxpayers subject to the Tax; imposes on employers the duty of collecting the Tax at the source; and provides for the administration and enforcement of the Ordinance, and the imposition of penalties thereof.  The emergency municipal services tax is needed to raise revenues to meet Borough expenses, and may be used for police, fire, and/or emergency services, road construction and/or maintenance, and reduction of property taxes.  It is estimated that the amount of revenues to be derived from the
Tax during calendar year 2008 will be $35,000.  The full text of the proposed Ordinance is on file at the Office of the Borough Secretary, located at 5 North Main Street, Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, where the proposed ordinance may

ATTENTION COOPERSBURG BOROUGH RESIDENTS

In order to facilitate short-notice road work and maintenance, snow plowing, and emergencies, the Borough Highway Department requests that you move your vehicles off of the street if you will be away from the area for a few days or longer (for vacations or business trips, for example).  If the Borough workers need to repair the water line or sewer line in the street, your vehicle may need to be towed.
