Hazardous Waste Drop-off (2007)
The Coopersburg Historical Society and our local churches will celebrate Old Fashioned Christmas Caroling on Sunday, December 16, 2007.
At 6 P.M., groups of carolers will begin caroling at the following four corners of Coopersburg: Calvary Church in the north, Pinebrook/Cooper Mansion in the South, the Post Office in the east, and State Street by 9th Street in the west. All four groups will carol through town, meeting at Borough Hall by 6:45 P.M.
Mayor Mack will greet carolers. The Calvary Brass Ensemble will accompany. Hot chocolate and cookies for everyone. Santa will greet all the children.
You may participate with your church or join in as carolers pass your house. Please keep a light on and they may stop to sing a few verses for you. For organizational questions, please call Colby Kent at 610-282-3138.
We hope to see you there.

Coopersburg Emergency Medical Services - 2008 Subscription Drive
Coopersburg Emergency Medical Services, Inc. has been providing volunteer directed community based pre-hospital healthcare to the borough of Coopersburg and surrounding townships since 1950. Coopersburg EMS currently has both paid employees and volunteers who cover 120 six-hour shifts around the clock every month. However, like many volunteer organizations we are finding it harder and harder to retain volunteers and to keep up with expenses, which is why we need the local community to strongly support us both financially and through volunteering.
One of the ways we raise funds necessary to maintain around-the-clock coverage is through an annual subscription program. The 2008 subscription was mailed out in November of 2007 and will cover you from January 2008 to January 2009. Thank you to those who have already returned their 2008 subscription. For those who haven’t or who did not get our mailing, please click here for a copy of the subscription form (78 KB).
A basic ambulance emergency transport can cost as much as $700.00 per call. Many insurance companies will not cover all of the cost. A subscription to Coopersburg EMS, Inc. entitles the holder to medically necessary emergency treatment transportation by state certified Emergency Medical Technicians. We accept what the insurance company pays without additional costs to the subscribing member.
It’s that time of year again when we can expect snow storms of all sizes and shapes. From the normal dumping of 3—4 inches to the blizzard with a foot or more of the white stuff. The Borough is responsible to clear the streets and make them safe in the event of snow. You can help yourself and neighbors by following a few rules:
-
Do not place the snow from your driveway to the left of the driveway. The snowplow coming down the street may push the snow back into your driveway and block you in again. Instead, throw your snow to the right of your driveway, behind the curb line.
-
Do not throw the snow from your sidewalk or driveway into the street. Besides being against the law, it puts more snow into the street which we are trying to clear, making more snow that is pushed down the street to your neighbor’s property.
-
Property owners must clear their sidewalks of snow and ice with a path of at least twenty four (24) inches within sixteen (16) hours of the cessation of the initial snowfall. The Code Enforcement Officer will check for compliance.
-
Don't overuse salt on your concrete sidewalks or walkways. Excessive salt can damage the concrete by penetrating the little nooks and crannies and pitting the surface. After years of salting, the concrete literally flakes away and replacement of the sidewalk is required.
